Lord Therion recounts, "The tradition began when I scaled the motte and castle walls only to find the site closed and myself in sole possession of the Iron Age / Roman / Saxon / Norman fortress at Old Sarum in 1992. I had no idea what I was going to visit, I was just told to go see the site. I hiked in a few miles and arrived at what is due North / 12 o'clock in this picture. Down the moat, up the hill, over the castle walls - and the place was completely deserted except for me."
